Based on real events. Hungary 1944: After his daughter was killed by Nazis, an old Hungarian shepherd decides in his grief to save as many Jewish lives as possible. In one of the clearings, he finds a woman with a gunshot wound, who he takes with him to potentially save her life. The shepherd is faced with the hardest decision of his life, to save the life of the Jewish family he is hiding in the stables, the wounded girl, or himself if the German soldiers discover his crimes.
